Our Team

15 practitioners. One mission. Correct the root cause of your pain through biomechanics-based movement training.

Meet the Team

Every practitioner at FP Brisbane is trained in the Functional Patterns methodology — combining gait analysis, biomechanics, and corrective strength training.

LE

Louis Ellery

Owner & HBS

Owner of FP Brisbane with a background in physiotherapy. After suffering multiple injuries during cricket in England — including Achilles tendinopathy, rotator cuff tears, and lumbar stress reactions — Louis discovered Functional Patterns in 2015. He has been pain-free for years and built FP Brisbane into the city's leading biomechanics practice with 130+ five-star reviews and 15 practitioners.

SA

Skye Ashton

HBS1 Certified

After 9 years teaching Comprehensive Pilates, Skye recognised most approaches only manage pain rather than resolve it. Her own back and hip issues led her to Functional Patterns in 2023. Now HBS1 certified, she no longer requires regular physical therapy and helps clients correct the movement patterns driving their pain.

SM

Sam Marsh

HBS1 Certified

Sam discovered Functional Patterns 6 years ago while practising movement systems that were damaging his body. With a study background in evolutionary biology and human health, he brings a holistic perspective to biomechanics correction. At 30, he moves better than ever and is passionate about solving complex, multifactorial problems.

KZ

Keriann Zipperer

HBS1 Certified

Holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Nutrition) and HBS1 certification. Keriann came from a conventional gym background before discovering FP revealed her training and movement patterns were entirely nonfunctional. Five years later, she is more symmetrical, no longer hypermobile, and brings a unique nutritional and hormonal health perspective to biomechanics training. Currently on maternity leave.

ES

Emmanuel Searty

HBS1 Certified

5+ years dedicated practice with a background in tennis, Muay Thai, and soccer combined with organic farming experience. After chronic stiffness and recurring injuries that stretching only worsened, Emmanuel found Functional Patterns transformed everything. He specialises in rebuilding fundamental movement patterns and helping clients achieve lasting structural change.

EK

Emma Kopcikas

Doctorate in Osteopathy

Holds a Doctorate in Osteopathy and specialises in chronic, complex conditions including complex regional pain syndrome and functional neurological disorder. A former state-level basketball competitor, Emma battled recurring injuries for years before Functional Patterns resolved what 5 years of osteopathic training could not. She brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to every session.

KA

Kaan Akkaya

Practitioner

Lifelong athlete with backgrounds in beach volleyball, 10 years of yoga instruction, and gymnastics since age 7. After continual shoulder dislocations despite hypermobility, Functional Patterns provided relief and potentially prevented surgery. Known for his keen eye for detail and highly motivating approach.

AJ

Aman Jagpal

HBS3 Certified

Holds a BSc in Sports and Injury Management and has 8+ years with Functional Patterns across HBS1, HBS2, and HBS3 certifications — trained in the United States across three intensive sessions. At 30, Aman moves better than ever and also practises boxing, Thai boxing, wrestling, and BJJ.

ME

Max Emett

HBS1 Certified

Background in Muay Thai (12 fights) and MMA (2 fights). Max discovered Naudi Aguilar's work in 2016 and became an FP-certified Human Biomechanics Specialist 6 years later. He gets clients of every description moving and functioning better than they thought possible.

TH

Trent Hill

HBS1 Certified

Former personal trainer and Wing Chun practitioner who recognised his training wasn't addressing asymmetries or dysfunctions — particularly his pectus excavatum. A pivotal moment came when he couldn't help a scoliotic client, revealing his narrow skillset. Now specialises in asymmetry resolution and postural transformation through Functional Patterns.
