Some amazing Teams we’ve taught

Training Seminar With The Coorparoo Female AFL Team At Sleeman Sports Complex

A HUGE thank you to Louis, Shane, Glenda & the Functional Patterns Brisbane team who joined us on our Testing & Values Day last weekend! They taught us about myofascial release techniques, gave us some corrective exercises, running tips and sent us home with a goody bag with a roller & trigger ball 👏🏼 We all know the importance of spending time on field during the season, and avoiding time spent unavailable due to injury can be self managed A LOT by individual players. Thanks so much for joining us! If anyone wants to seek help with their running biomechanics both for performance and injury prevention these are the guys to see 🥰
— Rebecca, CEO Of Cycling QLD

Functional Patterns Brisbane had the pleasure of running a biomechanics session with The Coorparoo Female AFL Team (@coorparoofemaleafl) We focused on understanding why improved quality of movement equals more time on the field over the long term and less time in pain.

We covered myofascial release techniques, as well as some basic corrective exercises and running tips to help these athletes perform optimally.

We left the team with some handy myofascial release tools and take-home information to allow them to continue putting into practice what they had learned.

We had a theory element in which we broke down gait-cycles and movements on the big screen to show common mistakes that lead to injury and tips that elevate performance. We then had a practical element in which we put these moves into action and practices basic movement sequencing through sprinting and muscular re-tensioning.

The team was amazing and engaged and we were able to see many lightbulb moments and improvements over the course of the day.

Training Seminar & Practical Session With Lucky’s Cricket Academy

Awesome to have @timeinlou @fp_brisbane last night presenting their practical workshop for the Academy members on the role of biomechanics and running mechanics in cricketers🏃🏽‍♂️🏏Thanks to all involved for a very interactive experience, we hope that the players and parents were able to get a glimpse into the level of detail they provide at their centre in recovery and injury prevention💥
— Lucky Peterson, Cricket Player & Coach

Lucky wanted a hands-on training session for his team of young cricket superstars. We delivered with a practical session on the role of biomechanics and running mechanics in cricketers.

We taught the players how to perform myofascial release on themselves using a basic set of tools. We find this skill helps players to put an emphasis on recovery in their downtime.

The players then saw some real-life examples of good biomechanics and were shown how to implement the most impactful points into their own gate cycle.
